Forgiveness brings connection

People often reach out to me to channel their animals who are in spirit because they miss them and are  curious if they're still around. They desire to gain an understanding of how to perceive their animal’s spiritual presence and connection more easily.  Animals both embodied and in spirit speak the language of energy and they hold compassionate unconditional loving witness space for their people.

Often the response to the question “Why can’t I perceive you around me?” The animal  immediately highlights an energetic block of guilt, blame or shame that hinders the connection and their person’s ability to perceive their presence.  They encourage their people to speak about the block so that they can forgive them.

During the conversation they advise their people to continue doing forgiveness work so the energetic telephone line is cleaned and cleared.  The framework that the animals suggest is the beautiful Hawaiian practice ho'oponopono which consists of four phrases:     I'm sorry for (fill in the blank)   •  Please forgive me • Thank You  •  I love you

Allowing yourself to go slowly through the phrases and imagining your sweet companion animal loving you and forgiving you with each phrase helps the energy shift and clear.  Animals report that the last part of their life may have been traumatic or filled with sickness, but they don’t remember it.  It was a blip in the entirety of their life.  What they do remember is the love, care and connection. Asking for forgiveness for your mistakes, attitude, lack of time, etc, gives them an opportunity to love you up and help move the energy.

I want to share a story about how forgiveness was able to open up communication with my mom who passed in 2021.  My mom courageously immigrated from Ireland in the '60s. She was a force of nature, highly intelligent, and she was determined to become something important in the world. When it turned out that she became a mother with five children under the age of six, she was angry and unhappy most of her life.  My childhood was filled with spiritual and emotional neglect.  I danced with this for my entire life and after my mom passed I was able to gain a different perspective and to forgive her with the understanding she was doing the best she could.

One day out on my walk being witnessed by the loving presence of nature, I called my mother energetically.   I forgave her for all these things that I had held within me for decades.  I acknowledged her doing her best and shared that I had a more clear understanding of her struggles. There were tears, there was anger, there was grief, there was a lot of truth telling of ways I had been hurt and there was a whole lot of forgiveness.  I gave her my love and my blessings.  I could feel a huge release of a lifetime of stories and convoluted energy that had been tied up in knots, which created more space for me.

I had done the forgiveness work with my mom two days before my birthday.  As my birthday was approaching I was thinking about the times that my mother had actually seen me and acknowledged me as the being I am.  As an adult I received a birthday card from my mom that was a poppy fairy who was beautiful and sparkly. Her skirt was a poppy and tucked underneath her arm was a very small envelope that opened, and inside was a birthday card with birthday wishes. I loved this card because I felt like my mom actually saw me. I kept it for years on my altar.  Over the years the fairy became bedraggled, her legs and arms falling off. I’d bandage her back together with tape.  When she became more of a tape fairy than a poppy fairy, I released her back into the world of recycling along with her card.

On my birthday, I was sorting through my mom’s collection of cards of scenic illustrations and photos of Ireland. I was looking for the perfect card to give a friend. While looking through the stack, a teeny little envelope fell onto my lap.  As I turned it over, I realized it was the envelope that the poppy fairy had held under her arm. In my mom's writing the envelope was addressed to Lady Neave. Between the tears, the laughter, the wonder and the awe, I sat down and opened this birthday salutation to see my mom’s writing, wishing me love and blessings from my mom and dad in the Spirit realm.  My clever mom with the help of the fairies had been able to deliver birthday love to me once the energetic blocks had been cleared.

This magical delivery clearly illustrates why the animals are always encouraging their people to release any blocks that stand in their way of connection.  The animals are always ready to forgive.  Forgiveness opens up a new pathway of possibility to receive love and connection in just the right way!
